The training is intended for children aged 7 to 10 who are just starting school or are already familiar with the learning process. Children at the age of 7–8 are very active and energetic. During lessons, they can concentrate on one type of activity for about 15 minutes, and if something more interesting appears, their attention shifts.
At this age, children remember facts, information and poems very well. Students aged 9–10 are very active, love adventures, physical exercises and games. Their ability to reason develops; they can draw conclusions and analyse objects and phenomena without relying on practical actions, which shows the development of verbal-logical thinking. They are capable of giving well-reasoned arguments. In our groups, we always take into account the psychological characteristics of the children.
Course objectives:
During this period, it is necessary to build a foundation so that later children can speak the foreign language correctly. We show them that learning a language is interesting and not frightening. As they gain confidence, children quickly begin to speak English and many other languages. This course develops all main language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. This undoubtedly helps them achieve better school results.
Program and teaching methodology:
The course consists of several levels. To determine your child’s general language proficiency and to show which level they should learn at, we have developed tests. The program aims at maximum immersion in the language process. There are no mechanical repetition exercises; instead, game situations, pair work, error-search tasks, comparisons and associations are used — engaging not only memory but also logic, analytical and creative thinking. The course is designed to develop both language skills and creativity as well as general knowledge. The language is closely connected to the specifics of the country, so cultural topics are included in the program.
The program is slightly more advanced than the school one, but the atmosphere is friendly, and the variety of tasks along with the teachers’ professionalism help children learn more easily and stay motivated. As a result, they develop a solid foundation that will help them learn foreign languages easily and speak confidently in the future.
Format of instruction:
Classes are held twice a week, lasting 80 or 90 minutes. Children are engaged with entertaining tasks that motivate them and develop practical skills. Lessons include illustrations, flashcards, audio and video materials, various games, tests and quizzes. Interaction with group members helps them communicate in the foreign language. The materials include many beloved cartoon characters, which fascinate young learners and help them acquire vocabulary faster.
Grammar rules are explained simply and logically, making it easier for children to understand complex aspects of the program. At this stage, competition plays a significant role — when children want to be better and receive higher marks, learning becomes more interesting and productive. At the age of 7–10, special attention is paid to open lessons for parents. Once per term, we present our achievements. The program overlaps with school curricula in some areas, so the acquired skills help children at school as well. If something at school is unclear, the child can always turn to the teacher, who will explain the difficult material and assist them.
