NEA GERMANIKA Starts the School Year In-Person and Introduces Interactive Hybrid Learning for Children
On October 1, training for the new school year officially started at NEA GERMANIKA. Classes will be held mainly in person, and only for short periods may switch to online mode. The manager of NEA GERMANIKA, Mrs. Svetla Zhelyazkova, told us more about the so-called hybrid learning, which alternates between in-person and online formats.

The online learning platform, which NEA GERMANIKA will also use during the new school year, has already successfully passed its test mode, and despite the known difficulties at the beginning, the compulsory online learning was more than successful. According to Mrs. Zhelyazkova, all members of the Educational Centre’s team deserve credit for this. According to the parents of children studying at NEA GERMANIKA, the team of the Educational Centre coped best of all in the Kardzhali region. According to Mrs. Zhelyazkova, this is possible because NEA GERMANIKA has actually been conducting online training for more than three years, long before the state of emergency was introduced.
At present, every child studying at NEA GERMANIKA has a created profile with their own password to log into the system, which they can use from anywhere and at any time. By logging into their account, the child enters a completely teacher-guided virtual environment, representing a virtual classroom, with audio-video connection, a virtual whiteboard, general and private chat, and many additional interactive exercises and tasks.

As officially announced by the Ministry of Education, the school year will begin with in-person classes and lessons will only be held online for certain grades during a possible quarantine period. The same will apply at NEA GERMANIKA. At the beginning, classes are planned to be held entirely in person, and only if necessary will we temporarily switch to online learning for a period of 2 weeks. This will effectively implement the so-called “hybrid” learning model.
