NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE IS ATTRACTING AMBITIOUS CHILDREN AND PARENTS FROM THE REGION

The summer holidays are no longer what they used to be. Even visiting grandparents is no longer quite the same. Children only go to the village if there is an internet connection or they have downloaded enough games onto their phones. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this, provided that their technological skills are developed and guided in the right direction. Judging by the interest in holiday activity programmes and other forms of extracurricular activities, parents who consider themselves modern are also not particularly keen on their children spending the summer doing nothing but coming up with all kinds of mischief and playing aimless games.
The latest trend this season is summer language activity programmes, as well as intensive summer courses that help children learn a foreign language quickly. Mrs Svetla Zhelyazkova, manager of NEA GERMANIKA Language Centre, told us about this and many other important and useful opportunities for children. It is one of the few educational centres in Kardzhali Province offering these services, which are so popular in larger cities.

“The summer language activity programme offered by NEA GERMANIKA Language Centre responds to the need for nea2care for young children whose parents work during the school holidays,” said Mrs Zhelyazkova. She added that the mission and main objective is not simply to look after children when their parents are unable to do so, but also to develop their intellectual abilities and language skills at the same time. The NEA GERMANIKA team believes that it is impossible to succeed in any field without a broad general knowledge and an understanding of the world, as well as knowledge of at least two foreign languages in addition to Bulgarian. However, this cannot be achieved without the efforts of everyone involved: parents, children and educational institutions. This is precisely what the NEA GERMANIKA team strives to achieve — to inspire and nurture in children and their parents the desire and confidence to believe that education is the foundation of prosperity and progress.
The language centre also told us that, in response to the great interest shown by the people of Kardzhali, a year-round language activity programme for children will be launched at the beginning of the new school year. According to manager Zhelyazkova, it will not simply be another private after-school programme replacing nea3school activities. Instead, the teaching team will make every effort to achieve the best possible learning outcomes at the regional level. For the first time, NEA GERMANIKA will also offer Bulgarian language and mathematics classes, with a particular focus on preparation for the national external assessment exams after 7th grade.
Svetla Zhelyazkova also revealed a long-kept secret surprise for the people of Kardzhali: free outdoor language lessons, which will begin in August and take place once a week. She explained that the idea was inspired by the outdoor reading room organised by the Regional Library “N. Y. Vaptsarov”. She added that NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE is actually a partner in this outdoor reading project and that the children from the language centre regularly visit the reading room.

Alongside the outdoor lessons, early registration for year-round language courses for children for the new school year will also begin on 1 August. Anyone who brings their child to an outdoor language lesson and pays an initial fee of 100 лв. will receive a 5% discount on the tuition fee for the entire year.
“As you can see for yourselves,” concluded Zhelyazkova, “NEA GERMANIKA is gradually becoming an educational centre of choice for children and parents in Kardzhali Province who see education not simply as a diploma, but as a ticket to a successful future.”
