Online Learning at NEA GERMANIKA Language Centre
Online learning on our own platform with a virtual classroom has been offered at NEA GERMANIKA since 2015. Although we consider in-person courses to be the better and more suitable option for language learning, we have always regarded online learning as a good enough alternative for hundreds of our compatriots abroad, as well as for students who are not from our hometown of Kardzhali. Over the past year, due to the epidemic situation and quarantine measures, online learning has received an additional boost for development. We, at NEA GERMANIKA, using our many years of experience in online learning, did not encounter major difficulties when switching to a fully online mode. We simply had to, based on the infrastructure we had already built, namely our online learning platform with an integrated virtual classroom, increase the scale. In addition, for the convenience of students, we built a completely new website, where students can get acquainted with the offered online courses, register for them and pay directly on the website by card, bank transfer or, if it is more convenient for them, at an EasyPay office. We also introduced a completely new service for Bulgaria – online courses for children, which is also available through our new website.
The online courses at the centre are conducted both in groups and individually, in real time, live with a teacher. We believe that this is the method by which in-person learning can be almost completely replaced. Online learning platforms, based on recorded video lessons and additional exercises, can only be used by students as additional preparation and are not suitable for full-fledged foreign language learning.
