St. Kliment Ohridski School and NEA GERMANIKA Launch a Joint Project for Early Foreign Language Learning
St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School in Kardzhali and NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE join forces in a project for early foreign language learning for children
At the beginning of July, St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School in Kardzhali and NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE launched a joint project to cooperate in the field of education, with a particular focus on early foreign language learning for children.
In recent years, NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE has established itself as one of the most prestigious private language schools in Kardzhali Province. According to Ms Svetla Zhelyazkova, Director of the Language Centre, from the very beginning the entire team set itself the goal of actively participating in and supporting state, municipal and public institutions in educating the city’s young people, helping them develop broad general knowledge and solid foreign language skills that will lead to successful professional careers.

In pursuit of this goal, the Language Centre’s team has worked increasingly hard over the past few months to bring this idea to life. Their efforts are now paying off: the long-planned joint project with St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School in Kardzhali, offering early foreign language learning for children attending the school, has officially begun.
The courses will be taught by NEA GERMANIKA teachers with extensive professional experience in foreign language teaching. Their teaching methods are based on communication in all its forms. The aim is to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Specialised curricula have been developed specifically for this purpose, taking into account learners’ particular needs, including the subject matter, language level, required learning intensity and the age-specific characteristics of working with children. Classes will take place in computer rooms specially equipped with multimedia facilities and a computer for every learner. This will allow extensive use of the latest audio-visual and multimedia resources, as well as interactive textbooks and other teaching materials.

All these innovations and modern resources, together with the professionalism of NEA GERMANIKA’s teaching staff, will help students at St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School achieve excellent results from an early age. For the time being, courses are planned in English and German only. However, NEA GERMANIKA has confirmed that it is ready to add other languages to the programme if students show an interest. If there is sufficient interest, students from other schools where early foreign language learning is not offered or does not meet the required standard will also have the opportunity to enrol. In addition, children from the “Studen Kladenets” neighbourhood will be able to join foreign language groups according to their language level, regardless of which school they attend.
To make enrolment as convenient as possible, registrations can be completed either at St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School in Kardzhali or at the main office of NEA GERMANIKA LANGUAGE CENTRE, located in the very centre of Kardzhali, in the Orpheus complex, 2nd floor, office 3.
